Favourite songs from way back when.

Most of you won't remember this song but it seems somewhat appropriate nowadays.

Some of the words could be thought of for wanting to get back to the pub

It's an old Russian song from the 1920's and translated quite well by Gene Raskin in the late 50's. and given to the Limeliters in 1961. It was then covered during the next couple of decades by many artists but most people in England will remember, if they're old enough, the version by Mary Hopkins in 1968 (she's still turning out albums ).
