Where I live we have a small independent hardware store that sells all the brand paints, they knock all the big players out the park on price. I paid £6.99 for Cuprinol no mess (6L) and the Ducksback range is under a tenner for 5L. Even the garden shades range is £16.99 for 2.5L compared to Wilko that charge £22. Shame they only offer a click and collect, they are always busy, so they probably could not cope offering delivery.

This is a lovely grey and just the type I was thinking of. Did you paint over bare wood? Mines brown at minute so may take a few coats.

Ah glad you like it. I love it myself! [Oops already said that! .. lol] Yes ... it was painted just over bare/natural/tanalised wood. I think a couple of coats would probably cover the brown though to be honest. Unless it's a really dark brown? It may come out a bit darker then perhaps?

I certainly would not use Cuprinol. For some reason that I cant recall, I used it on one wooden structure instead of the usual stuff I use in 2009, and re-treated it on a regular basis. Some wood now needs replacing.

The fence I built 30-odd years ago was treated with a traditional concoction that can be made at home, and tinted to the exact shade required is still perfect, as are other newer wooden things made since.

Hi I went with the ducksback in the same shade as you. Painted 2 panels last weekend over the dark brown and really surprised how good it took. One panel left then another quick coat over them love the colour:)
