Just signed up - its an absolute disgrace when the solution is relatively cheap (just a bit of effort).

:thumb: Precisely Tim... Farmers always kept ditches flowing in the past, they realised the importance of such things...!!!!!:( Seems today, if there isn't a machine to do the work they don't do it...!!!!:mad:

Aren't we all the same. Rotavators, Strimmers, Chainsaws, Rotary Mowers.

    I too have signed.
Even living on the edge of a city we have problems with blocked flood drains.
A few months ago an old rotting tree root was the fault of a row of houses being flooded.
All it needed was to be cleared and the water went.
The blocked drain had been reported many times.
    It makes you so angry.

Thank you Lyn:)...In the grand scale of things I don't think my petition will do other than allow us to let off steam:hehe:..However,there does appear to have been work done clearing ditches around here,at least that will help the water running off the hills behind us get away more effectivly....Just got to stop the 'gardeners' around here throwing their grass cuttings in them now!..

It must be a terrible worry every time you get heavy rain.
We get the odd small flood but nothing like you do.
The petition will at least let people see your not just sitting back and taking it.

We had an open evening last night in the Village hall for the Environment Agency to display their prefered option for flood reduction.
It is proposed to create holding areas for storm water along the stream and low areas in the 'vally'. They will build 4 metre wide x 2 metre high barriers which will be landscaped. It is hoped construction will commence this year:ntwrth:
