Forgotten what these are...

    Yup, could be it the Iceland poppy (Papaver nudicaule). The californian poppy in actually not a poppy, not even related, and the bud is quite different (small, thin and pointy, and smooth,not prickly like a poppy).

    Quick one, sorry again. Have a packet says ' Shirley Mixed' or something. I'm so sorry as to getting withings wrongs.

    Right, thanks to you I can now identify the Califonia & Iceland poppies I have growing. Yes you are right Ivory (of course:thumb:), the California poppy is totally different I can see now. Didn't know what this was either until you described it.
    2 more identified now, yah!
