Can't wait to see it when it's all established in a couple of years time @Perki, you're packing a lot of variety and interest into that space, it should look very full eventually! :blue thumb:

Just a tip, Perki....I know you said you're not moving any now, but I'd put the Iris near the path so it doesn't get swamped/shaded by other plants and also so you can easily remove tatty leaves and old flower stalks :)

Yes I tried to keep them in a open place , the one near the pittosporum should be fine they quite a lot of space there and easy to get at, but the other one ( right side middle ) will very likely be swamped and shaded. If it struggles it struggles it is what it is I take it out , I am just trying to extended interest through the season before the main show mid/late summer in autumn .
Talking about Iris I acquired another today after a customer didn't fancy it because she didn't like the look of the leaf shape  :rolleyespink: . I could of planted it if I really wanted or keep it for myself  not really an option if you ask me :heehee: . So now I have 2 Iris Supreme Sultan already planted, do I keep both for a bit of repetition or do I swap one out for Iris Superstition ? Or try squeeze all 3 in or just plant one in the back garden . :noidea:

Hopefully Nick :fingers crossed: I am looking forward to next spring, I haven't got much hope for the Eremurus but they are so nice its worth one last try .

Well its been just over a year since I redesigned and planted up the front garden , I've been really pleased with it I am not missing the lawn .
Not everything has gone to plan lost a few plants - Nepeta Govaniana ( slugs ) - euphorbia black pearl ( damaged ) now replaced , the Clematis on the fence squashed the veronica but now its been tamed and my constant attempts of growing Eremurus and fritillaria Persia ends in failure yet again .

24th April - Tulip Lady jane just opening and Daffodil Ice wings in the background
          DSC02901.jpg

Mid- May Allium are the main show the perennials are bulking up
          DSC02933.jpg

1st June Iris Supreme Sultan - Allium Universe at front with Early emperor fading towards the back of the border with various other alliums purple rain - purple sensation - Gladiator and Mount Everest. Rose Golden celebration starting to flower in background
          DSC02960.jpg

29th June Eryngium Neptune Gold and Salvias got going , Allium firmament to right rear disappointed in that one
          DSC03085.jpg

Salvias are in full swing , Salvia Amethyst & Smouldering Torches had been marvellous since June till late in the season
          DSC03103.jpg

1st August done some deadheading of the salvias , late summer perennials starting
          DSC03121.jpg

Mid August I used Cleome to temporary replace the Euphorbia I lost, they did very well in the hot summer. Dahlia David Howard behind in the empty space that I never did decided on .

9th November ( missed October somehow ) next 3 are all same date

          DSC03248.jpg
Persicaria fat domino still going strong
          DSC03250.jpg

I planted my Miscanthus Memory in the top left corner , I did go for M.Graziella but couldn't get hold of a decent size one. I am glad I didn't get one M.Memory looks good there with excellent autumn foliage its small now but it will be a giant this year.
          DSC03251.jpg
And 12th December never did get any frosty covered photos . It looks a mess now the snow flattened everything.
          DSC03270.jpg

Going to change Salvia smouldering torches to Salvia Verticillata Alba, I like Saliva.ST a lot but the colour was to similar to S. Amethyst it just blended in you could see the individual shape of the flower structure, I am going to slightly move all the salvias so they don't swamp the Echinacea. Adding Rudbeckia Praire glow this spring to where the nepeta vacated and probably something yellow again where I planted Dahlia.DH or the Rose Desdemona which is the terracotta pot .

Added some more bulbs yesterday Tulip Aximensis and Allium Ambassador . I am on the fence whether to get rid of Rose Golden celebration its a beautiful rose when it flowers but it never seems happy, may replace with rose Lark ascending or Heleniums .

Its done really well for the amount of time :)

I am very pleased with it, it going to get bigger and hopefully better this year with more problems arising, over planting will likely become a problem eventually.

Thanks Sheal , shame it isn't bigger I could get some earlier spring/winter interest . I've have designed it to have strong winter interest from the perennials but as soon as the winds and snow arrive it looks messy .

I think your succession of plants looks glorious - I can't see how you could improve it!

Its a newish David Austin rose Eustacia vye , nice scent and colouring ( apricot )when it first opens. I want it to be just higher than the fence which I expect it will surpass this year.
