Fuschia Hedge

    I am faced with a Fuschia hedge which has grown out of control. It is about 7ft high 5 ft foot thick and is very straggly with lots of dead wood. If I hard prune ie down to about 4ft high - how much new growth can I expect this year.
    Also will a mulch of cow manure encourage new growth

    I think you would probably get about 1ft of re-growth. I don't think the manure will make much difference.

    Just a thought Islayhawk, from my own experience. Check the woody parts of the fuschia hedge for woodworm. I had to dig a large one out three years ago as it was riddled with it.
