Complete crapola as usual, just so lots of mugs buy the rubbish and tripe that they print.

Praise the lord! I'm not the only one who thinks like that.

      Hot summers suit me.

I don't like hot summers. Gently warm ones will do me fine, 25C absolute max. - but 20C minimum :dbgrtmb:

Mid 20s in °c is a lovely UK day :dbgrtmb: I can't believe the BBQ non - believers ! Nothing nicer than to cook good quality sausages and nicely spiced chicken kebabs outside while sinking a few beers . Then have a nice dinner on the lawn - it's what a gardens for............

            Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Take a can of your favourite beer. Open it. Drink about 1/3rd.

Meanwhile, rub a whole chicken with a herb and spice mix of your choice - or not, if you prefer.

Heat up the BBQ (I use solid fuel so can't advise on a gas bbq). Once all the coals are hot, spread them out towards the side of the bbq.

Up-end your chicken so that the legs are pointing downwards and slip the chicken onto the beer can. The can and the chicken legs should form a sort of tri-pod which will hold the chicken upright. Carefully transfer (using oven gloves!) to the centre of the BBQ. As the can of beer heats up, it creates steam which effectively steams the chicken inside out.

The skin will *not* get beautifully crisp and golden unless you remove the chicken from the beer can (very carefully - it will be hot, hot, hot!) and return just the chicken to the bbq rack to crisp up.

An average 3lb chicken will cook in approximately 1 - 11/2 (but, do check it is cooked through thoroughly).

I'll try and hunt out a photo for you Harry :)
