    is it ok to snip of some of of the hollyhock leaves ? They’re covering the flowers , but I don’t want to kill the plant.

    Taking one or two off probably wouldn't do any harm.

    During this hot weather the flowers are going over quickly, I'm taking them off as you can see a new flower head forming.
