Good Service From Virgin

It is, not least given that its showing for all the networks combined. We seem to be getting really good at ruining good ideas in this country; such a shame

 

It is a disgrace. Best of it is, I'd bet a pound to a penny that a lot of it is being held back by budgets or legal arguments.

For months now, I have been trying to get the road surfaces and bus stands repaired or resurfaced in a local hospital, as they now resemble the surface of the moon, to the point where they are in ankle-breaker territory for pedestrians, and are causing fairly significant damage to vehicles. The response came back that they are now reaching the end of a long legal battle between the NHS trust and the PFI investors as to who is or is not responsible for footing the bill for repairs.

My comment that the works would have been done and finished, and they would have had more money left in the bank, had the money that it cost for the legal battles been spent on the road surfaces somehow made me unpopular

 

Sadly, I am not surprised in the least.

The most annoying part of my job is that I get to see this sort of thing up close, first hand so to speak; all the more frustrating is the fact that the 'front line' people who are delivering the service can see what needs to be done, are more than willing and capable of doing it, and yet their hands are tied by bureaucracy.
