One day @jimcubs when the wind was from the East we saw 2" waves coming down the pond. :) We ran for our lifejackets! :)

This is a sculpture made out of gearbox parts, nuts & bolts, the odd pliers and a few spanners thrown in for good measure. It's standing on a slab placed on top of four beer barrels. (empty). :) Sculpture was made in Devon.

I once put a breeze block in my old pond to rest a Lilly on, guess what the dam thing floated :yikes:
Had to get a bigger heavier one.

That is a lovely sculpture @kindredspirit . Back when I worked at a steel company, they had a box full of large machine parts that were rejected by the manufacturer and sent to the company to show that it was a problem with the steel not their process. I asked the maintenance crew who were skilled welders to make a woman for me. I had drawn the name of a fellow every year for the Christmas gift exchange. Everyone liked him a lot and I guess they figured if they rigged the name drawing so I got the fellow's name, he'd always get something unique. Anyway, the boys built a girl. She was only about 4 feet tall but had a magnificent pair of coconuts . :heehee:Everyone was stunned and it was a fun exchange.

Well, nothing as beautiful and classy like yours but it did bring back some fun memories seeing your post.:dbgrtmb:

Ripped out 1½ tons of reeds this weekend. They really do clear the water but also have Genghis Khan imperial ambitions unfortunately.

I actually don't know. Most of them are pink, which all came from one tuber that I got from my brother's pond. I went away and bought three red, three white and three yellow ones but they only flower sporadically. The surface is covered by all the pink ones. which came from that original tuber.
