They tried turning off the street lights around here.
    Just caused a crime wave.

With all these storms we're getting, and they name them alphabetically, will the one beginning with G be called Greta?

They have the ability to dim our street lights (or switch them off) between certain hours - the dimming seems to be OK as long as they remember to do it, but the switching off drew a load of complaints, so they don't do that now.

I read an article (could be fake news :noidea:) about global warming from all types of sources, and it said that if all the planes stopped flying it would reduce the global temperature by 0.003 degrees.

On one of the science programmes on the TV (think it was on the BBC) they said that the major production of heat in the atmosphere in 5 - 10 years would be generated by the proliferation of computers and a lot of it that it used to maintain social media. :yikes:

If the tech could be relied upon, then maybe - but then, there are pedestrians to consider too

As I understand it although the car maybe self driving the person in the front seat is still responsible for the car, if so, they can poke their "self" driving cars.
How the hell can you insure something like that?

Looking like it won't be quite as bad as it was last weekend though thankfully.

We used to just call this winter though - we had storms and flooding when I was a kid. Some of the flooding is definitely worse, but surely that is because drains, gullies and rivers are not maintained the way they were and we have also built more homes either as blocks of flats with no gardens, or those houses that do have gardens, many are paved over for parking?
