If its the same bloke, I saw him being interviewed on BBC Breakfast. He emptied compost all over the studio floor to a demonstrate bare rooted shrub.
Sounds like a good idea, providing they don't tell everyone its so easy to grow your own veg. Its not.

Sounds like the usual old rubbish:ywn:

The BBC should really think about who there target audience is for instance, a program called "Gardeners world" is obviously a program meant to be viewed by gardeners who generally no which way up you plant a tree although if you watched it you wouldn't of thought so

Sounds like they are trying to get back to the good old days of Geoff Hamilton.

Not likely as that is all gone and in the past now.

I think its all been over done through the years.

Its very difficult to make something different now.

    Not watched it for years.

I`m afraid the cult of celebrity has struck GW down I believe.

I think it sounds great! Yes its all been done before, again and again in fact, but now they're ditching the old site that would just repeat last year and creating a whole new plot from scratch - something that LOADS of new gardeners have to contend with and want to watch.

From the article they will have design and expert master classes too and although it may not square up to some professionals advice or experience it will give a good footing for those starting out. Once they have their own experience to draw on they'll be able to compare it with what they learned through GW.

If you're an expert already you don't need a programme to teach you gardening do you? If its not for you then don't watch it.

I'll be tuning in; I don't expect the world but I am interested in their approach to the project.

Hi folks. To me, it SOUNDS like it could be good. I just hope they take the opportunity to reinvigorate the show. As I've said before somewhere, the current presenters leave me a bit cold, so it'll need some good content imo. With gardening becoming more popular, lots of folks are going to be looking for advice and inspiration, and hopefully, GW by taking on a new site, will help. As they say, time will tell. Cheers...freddy.

:) I will look forward very much to the new series, as always..
It's always nice to see other peoples gardens and the way other people garden.
I am always up for new ideas ,new plants and projects..........I certainly don't agree with everything..........but quite often I think now that's a good idea why didn't I think of that lol.
    Bring it on...............:)

I think it sounds like a good idea, only been into gardening a short time and only been watching gardeners world for a few years and think it's great the way it keeps changing (although I do miss Monty), moveing forward as the world and climate is changeing, I learn from it and look forward to it on a friday (even more so as weekend tv has gone seriously down hill).

I think their main aim is to get new people into the garden and the younger the better, growing their own ( which hopefuly will help me and my sons school with out veg patch project), learning about the outside world by watching the tv

I guess we'll have to wait and see what it's like.

Personally I'm waiting for the Gardeners World game for the wii :)

I'll be watching it, for sure. There is such diversity in gardening that its nice to see things I might otherwise not get to see or learn about.

To those who knock GW (for what ever reason that may be, and thats fine) what would you feature in a 30 min programme that would appeal to the nation's gardeners as a whole? How would you structure a series of GW? And have you put those ideas/thoughts to the BBC/GW team?

It would be interesting to see what a gardening forum could come up with as a joint project, to see if the BBC could "get it right" and please ALL gardeners. At least by doing so I think we would not be far removed from what the BBC already have or do you not think so?

    Steve...:)

Well I just hope we get mor3 than a measly half hour. There must be more Gardeners than there are footballers, athletes, or any other hobby you can think of .We are the most neglected, as well as how to do things they could show new plants and other peoples gardens the ideas are endless and it might get rid of some of their rotten repeats of things we have seen dozens of times.Joyce
