I've just found that info on MSE http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheaper-fuel#tesco and Martin Lewis has got his figures wrong saying £2 diff between Tesco & Morrisons because Asda is cheaper by a further pound and that's the amount Price Promise will use on the Robinsons squash (£7 for 2 at Tesco and £2 each at Asda).

He also underestimates the potential saving because he's not combining every moneysaving trick with this offer. For example Buy 6 x squash @ £7 for 2 = £21 and claim £9 back on Price Promise, + buy a 1L carton of Welches Grape Juice (there's a printable voucher on Welches' website that's for more than Tesco charge so you actually get 50p off your shopping) + buy a bottle of POM chilled pomegranite juice (£3.39?) with the 'Try Me Free' collar on and claim the money back, + spend £16 on dairy (checking first it's not something that's cheaper elsewhere) and don't forget you can freeze cheese, milk & butter, so getting the total to about £41.50 and then use the Welches printed voucher together with a £5 off £40 spend voucher Tescos were printing off last week, so only pay £35. Then claim back £9 from Price Promise and send off for a refund on the POM, getting the spend down to less than £23 for all that shopping plus 5 x 10p off fuel vouchers then fill up with 80 litres of diesel and get £40 off. That's what I'll be doing.

But somehow we have put some money away to pay for that shroud. :runforhills:

The more you save on the mundane
The more you have to splurge on the insane ;)

I use these in winemaking, so probably get a greater saving than using for jam making.

Tesco have dried apricots on 2 for 3 at the moment, but I'm sure this must be a better deal (although not as good as when Morrisons sold off all their 'Value' branded dried fruits prior to rebranding them 'Savers').

Make you own vegetarian sausages from Tesco Value Stuffing Mix. A 15p packet makes 8 'sausages'. Might try making 'sausage' rolls with it next or blending it with Asda packeted vegetarian sausage mix (£1/packet) to get the price down.

I've got 2 packets of that Scrunge, might add some soya as well:blue thumb:

Where do you get your vegetable suet from, asked in Tescos & they just looked blank at me?

Mr Mum is finally catching on when it comes to savvy shopping: he brought home a joint of beef marked down from £17 to £1.77  I was totally impressed! Until he ruined it all by saying: "Who would pay £17 for that?"

                    :wallbanging:

Well Sherlock, clearly *no one* which is why it was reduced

He was sent back to the dog house for that numpty remark :pathd:

Aah, they've changed the packet, maybe thats why I couldn't spot it:dbgrtmb: I was thinking dumplings too.

Made burgers out of the stuffing for lunch, added soya, egg, grated cheddar & parmisan & soy sauce. Lovely.
