    Agreed, pete. Seagrave is selling Tree Fern logs of different sizes at around half price for pre-orders for April. I wouldn't buy one during the Winter, until at least April anyway when the months will, hopefully, be warmer to give the Fern the best encouragement to put down it's roots which it seems eager to do.:dunno:

    I think Harry is going for a Phoenix, not a tree fern, but anyway, just saying prices rise in spring as does demand.
    You can buy now and store during winter, I'd not bother trying to root a fern during winter but stored in an out house in cool conditions I'm sure they would lie dormant.
    Lets face it, they must come over in a ship's hold for 6 weeks at least,probably more.

      I looked on Seagrove website and like the look of Tree Fern Dicksonia Antarctica'
      Any thoughts and advice please?
      Ive never ordered something that far ahead on purpose. My DFS sofa just took that long all by itself :heehee:

          Don't go for a massive one to start with, at £30 per foot you'll need at least a 3 footer for a decent show - a lot of money in my book.
