I tend to find that the 'blue' sort of lighting is the worst.

Not dipping headlights has also been a long term problem. :noidea: Apparently, the new car I have recently ordered dips the healights itself, as soon as it picks up healights coming towards it. :rolleyespink:

The Xenon bulb white head lights are far too bright even in dipped mode. They are like two laser beams coming towards you. Glad some one has brought this one up .

What I have noticed more with these headlights is the flashing effect you get as a vehicle comes towards you.
There seems to be a more clearly defined line of where the dipped light falls, difficult to explain what I mean, but it means that on a bumpy road, (we have lots of them:biggrin:), you get this flashing effect coming towards you.

The ones that get me most are the ones that appear blue from a certain angle, then go a clear dazzling white.

We have the same problem, we also have problems with tractors driving around with all there working lights on even the rear ones because they haven't got any red side and brake lights on their trailars they use their white working lights to light up the dark trailor (using your working lights is illegal but who care) many times i've had to stop because i can't see a thing

Farmers do appear to be a law unto themselves, often find some pretty dodgy tractors/ vehicles etc. running around the roads here.
I assume they are road worthy and insured etc. but who knows until something collides with one of them.:frown:

Since I bought my car last year, this Winter I've found I get "flashed" a lot!
Wonder if that is to do with my lights? :dunno:
It is one that has those lights which are on even if you haven't put your lights on (if you see what I mean?). Should I get something done? Or, as its still under warranty, should I leave well alone for a bit?

I think some of the problem might be down to the fact that you can lower and raise your headlights these days.
I'm thinking we mostly have this adjustment for when carrying loads, but the usual thing is to just have them as high as is possible, whatever.

I must admit I do find four lights coming at me in a country lane a bit much, it would be good if the running lights went off if you were to turn on your headlights?? not rocket science.;)

On wet roads its like getting eight lights coming at you, and if the W***KER has his fog lights on its almost goodbye.

Never adjusted mine, but, you are right. When I bought my previous to this car, the man explained what that dial was for. I had a "who knew?" moment
Haven't even "checked" it in this vehicle ... so I could be blinding people inadvertently.

I agree that modern lights are awful for dazzling oncoming traffic. Many times it is down do poorly fitted (or cheap) bulbs but the latest generation Xenon and LEDs are just plain bad if you're facing them. Even worse are the aftermarket conversion kits that allow these bulbs to be used in reflectors that were designed for ordinary halogen bulbs.

Day running lights? They should be able to be turned off - get the handbook out or ask at the next service.

I'm not saying your fog lights come on when the lights are on auto, but there does seem to be a few strange people around who put them on at the slightest bit of mist.
                            Especially the rear ones.

I never use my fog lights, the switches are about a quarter of an inch square and hidden somewhere under the steering wheel.
And then they say using a mobile phone is dangerous, fumbling around looking for this kind of thing, often in the dark, is probably just as dangerous.

@"M" if your daylights are dazzling other drivers just switch on your side lights as their not as bright as the daylights ones, but don't forget to switch them off when you park/leave your car you may then get a flat battery
