    Hmmm..., all relative I suppose.

A couple of things you might want to look at.

As well as your BT mail, find its also worth while using Gmail or MS mail email accounts as I found my providers mail system often failed and could be out of action for a few days at a time, so having other accounts was a real necessity.
While you may say many things about Gmails privacy etc, don't forget you are just one out of the billions of users.

Can see one potential flaw in your system and that you seem to use your pc for online banking and its alongside your normal internet /email then the chances of infection are higher.

You often read of folk saying use a Linux system for banking, but unless you are really computer savvy its not the easiest of methods and I have never seen a clear cut answer to AV and Linux, some say its not needed other do ..??

However, when I recently upgraded my 60gb SSD ( could equally be a HDD) I kept the old drive in the PC and put a (hidden) switch between the power lines to both drives so I could switch and select either one of them.
On the old drive I did a clean install and just added a browser and security programs and used a known/secure list of banking site addresses and nothing else, not even email.
You just go to those banking sites and nowhere else so that way you really reduce your exposure to infection etc or anybody prying on your pc which is normally switched to your 'normal' drive
Because its the same mobo MS does not know its a different system and you still get updates to both systems as normal.

    Paranoid, or what? :snorky:

      Thanks ricky,

I don't actually use my PC for doing any online banking (except in extremis) but just for looking at my accounts after I have told their 'special customer' service people what I want done. They have standing orders not to transfer any money to an outside account and the online banking is just to move money between accounts (e.g. savings to current in order to pay bills). Usually this is all done by phone and I have got to know the people who do this - by name and recognising their voices.

All this was put in place many years ago when I caught a fraudulent transaction on my account just after it happened. The person was caught :blue thumb:, as was the employee at the bank who had access to my personal information.

Never had that problem in all the years I've been with them. :noidea:
