I also grow a delightful variegated Felicia eddybaby. Not quite as hardy but a real eye catcher. :)

I have it in a container and its fabulous in flower. Thanks again.

Meanwhile Re my apple tree thread, there were just one or two things:
        1. Your answer: As well as summer pruning for fruit I would look to try and balance that growth by shortening branches on the vigorous side
My reply: should I do that as part of the summer pruning ?

        2. Your answer: Incidentally, you can encourage growth on weak shoots by raising branches and reduce growth on strong shoots by lowering them.
My reply: How do I do that?

        3. Your answer: Do you know if it is growing on a dwarf root stock?
My reply: Yes I think it is I've just found this info which I must have kept when I bought it. 'Greensleeves apple tree half maiden self fert 15 ft hi wide 10 ft'
        Would that explain its size???

        4. Your answer: I would feed too.......fish blood and bone
My reply: Could I do that now? , chicken pellets or dried manure.....and then apply a thick mulch to conserve moisture during the growing season :)
        Thank you

        Yes to question 1
Question 2......if you remember that growth is more vigorous the more vertical it is then you can lift and tie weak branches at say 45 degrees or lower the vigorous ones to near horizontal. Best to look at your tree in late summer not now. Hopefully, you will already have lots of fruit buds forming so pruning now would remove these.
(I grew maiden fruit trees and raising/lowering branches was part and parcel of the initial training)
Question 3 .....no, those dimensions don’t refer to rootstocks but do indicate M9 or M106. Not very dwarfing but good
Question 4......yes chicken pellets applied now would be fine. :)

Re Felicia......tender in most places so prob best treated as an annual there. Here it is evergreen for 2 reasons.....warm, free draining soil and mild over winter.

 Have we agreed on Felicia? Maybe it is in a sunny, protected place up North! Maybe that is just a dead bit that needs cutting out, perhaps peed on by a critter. :heehee:
