My hubby inherited some old woodworking tools and told me to list them on fleabay :gaah: Now, he is used to more modern tools & I'm a girl :heehee: so I'd appreciate some help identifying what we have before I list it. :help::please:

Now this one (obviously) is an old plane. But does anyone have any idea of age, etc?

Yup, mainly. Square on the right. Top and left are definitely measuring tools .. the top one should have a nail in the end, it's used for scoring a line along a parallel edge.

Left is a drill bit holder.

Second from right is a crude hand drill ... run the middle bit up and down the length of the drill to make it turn.

First one appears to be a wooden jack plane without iron.
Second one a brace sometimes called a swing brace.
Third, the "Boston", a block plane.
Fourth, Top one, not a saw I'm familiar with, bottom small tenon saw.
After the lamp, there is a marking gauge, small square, and dividers, and couple of torture implements:biggrin:.

Then we have a shave hook on the right, and drilling implement next to that.

Not sure on the far left item but have an idea the two central items might have something to do with rug making.

Most still used to day, started going out of fashion for newer easier stuff 1965 ish
All above answers correct and all can be had at boot sales for about a £1 each
(getting rid of Grandads shed now he has cowped it)
I was still selling these new in the 60's
The lamp is a bicycle headlight circa 1958

Sadly other than the metal block plane, they are all only fit for the bin.

The block plane should clean up okay, and whilst it won't make any money on Fleabay, it is a tool that is worth hanging on to if your husband does any kind of woodwork.
