Help. New to gardening and do not know if this is a weed

    Hi I have just moved house and have created a vegetable patch. This cabbage like plant is growing in it and I do not know what it is. Is it a weed, vegetable or ugly flower? Looked everywhere on line and cannot identify it.

        Thank you for all your help. I thought it was a cabbage of some description ☺️ Will let it flower. Excited about my Opium poppy; will let it grow.
