'Free Wheelin' again just noticed this flower has whats called a polytepal flower, should have 3 sepals and 3 petals but this has 4 of each.

I try very hard not to look on ebay DUBMAN just too tempting:D.
I bought a great book last year called 'The New Encyclopedia of Daylilies' by Petit and Peat, more than 1700 varieties pictured in it including a section on daylilies of the future, ones that are being trialled in the USA now, the patterns are amazing never seen anything like them:rolleyespink:, should think it'll be a few years before any arrive over here and then they'll be very expensive because of the phytosanitary costs but nice to dream.
There is a site where you can buy seed from crosses of some of the newer varieties not available here, they don't have to have the same checks as plants , and because every seedling will be different you could get something very special, just have to check they import to the UK before bidding.
I've just joined the BHHS this year and in spring they distribute american seed among their members:yay: can't wait.
I'll find the lily seed auction site and put the link on here.

I love the free wheeling lily! that's my fav!! but I will say the lily on this page are the beat looking ones! :D
ok now...I have heard so many rumours on how to extract lily seeds and I'm wanting to get to the bottom of it. I did an experiment yesterday on a dead lily head. I peeled the dead head open and found these red/black long "rice" like pellets. is that a bunch of seeds?
also I know it's abit off topic but how do you extract seeds from salvias? they are my fav annual plant.
