here we go again

i was trapped today from 11am till 6pm , by the wife!
its that time of year again (christmas decorations).
i keep all the decorations/lights/etc etc in the loft. i got all the gear down from the loft. the tree comes in three sections all the branches click into the tree and you work your way from the bottom to the top. the branches are all coloured and tagged by letters (an easy way to build) (MY AR**). last year i had a great idea, or so i thought, to place the whole tree in a big poly liner put it up the loft all intact and next year it will be easy peasy ,all in the one piece. unfortunately
my loft was insulated this year !. the insulators must have thrown the tree from one end of the loft to the other,several times all the branches were mixed up
IT WAS A NIGHTMARE,! we spent hours putting all the colours in their correct order then we had to build the tree .we built the tree then the wife said"i think it looks a bit( lop sided)".( by this time the steam was coming out my ears). we eventually got the tree and all the other decorations in their place,
then the wife said " where is that big decoration we purchased last year,for the fireplace?". it was a vase made from bamboo with branches coming from the vase
to make a flower arangement . it spread over the fireplace and all lit up with L.E.D. lights a blue colour. SO I AM BACK UP THE LOFT TOMORROW:(
i think next year it will be a REAL TREE!!! music .:gnthb:

 

Oh dear Music, that sounds a bit like our house! We try to keep all the christmas "stuff" together in one area in the loft so up I go looking for things-no sign of them. After a few trips up there hubby remembers he moved them when he put a fan in the bathroom :dh:
so up HE went and found them!

You know Music us women like things to be done a certain way so I'm with your wife :hehe:

 

I try to stay out of our loft. It's boarded, I took it up about 12 years ago to put extra insulation in. Then 8 years ago we had a rewire... well, we moved out for six weeks while different trades practically gutted the house, as it was also new central heating, bathroom, decorations, carpets and curtains, so I had to go up there and put the boards back. (can't complain an electrician friend did the job for £1,000, "that's what (golf) friends are for."
but there's a lot of stuff up there, there's a danger that I'll sit up there for a couple of hours just looking through stuff. My wife doesn't like it as "going up and down makes a mess."
