Yes Caroline, sadly it is 1/2 days The new breeds like HibisQs® by Graff® Breeding purport to last three days, I have about six of them and they try to in this heat, especially the multi petals.

 

Thanks @Victoria . I'll just have to feed them well so they produce loads of flowers!

Hi Carolinre I have six in the ground under the Brugmansia 'Charles Grimaldi' which are the older ones and about 20 in pots on the front of house patio ... all different. I like them because they are evergreen here ... but don't like they are one-day wonders except the new breeds can bloom for two/three days.

 

But presumably as you're so warm, their season is long? A day for a flower is not so bad if it continues for months.

I'll be slightly different today with an Hibiscus mutablilis. Sadly it is single petal and I thought it was multi, but hey ho I am not complaining because it is pretty ...
