LOL You must be having a senior moment as I mentioned to you that we went through Bonchurch and the pond was on the left and the shop was called the Pond Shop...On the right, and you told me I think that a friend of yours works in there.

Yes do send me a PM,so I can feel envious at your royal home.

I must do the Lottery this week,or marry a rich man before October..some hope..sugar daddy is already spoken for...

Sorry, Kandy, it was you I was speaking to .. but you lose things in the threads .. apologies! Better when you speak personally in PMs or Es.

I'd love to win the lottery .. we've done our thing by hard graft (no kids, either) and no inheritances either!

We have been the same LOL with it being done bit by bit with no financial help from anyone else.

At least we can sleep easy at night without a consience...not sure of the spelling.

You appreciate it better when you do it yourselves

The most I have won on the lottery was £92 and then didn't spend it on myself.

    Hi

I'm a bit more optimistic than you. I'm going to try and stick around to see the hole in the ozone layer closed! [IMG] [IMG]

Although we have to drive most places (no buses here) and we do fly (years ago we promised ourselves that when we retired we would go to see all the places we have always wanted to see - and do it whilst we still can) we do lots of recycling, plant wild flowers and trees back in the wild, are totally organic in the garden etc.

We've both worked hard all our lives and are managing to do what we have aimed at. we also try and help others to attain their goals. I started working (part time), at the age of 14 selling greengrocery on a market stall in the East End of London. 5.30 a.m. start and 4.30 p.m. finish. 25 years ago I set up an organisation locally (funded by donations from business, local authority and the government) to give free advice to people who wanted to start their own businesses. It's been good to see some of these do very well for themselves. Some of those have helped others so I feel good about that too. Whoops! Sorry! I'm going on a bit. [IMG] [IMG]

Shiney - I'm optimistic like you. Not long ago they said there was no stopping the hole from enlarging but now they say it's starting to 'mend itself'. So who's to say it won't mend more rapidly than the scientists predict!

You sound as if you had a very interesting and rewarding life Shiney. Like you we drive about a bit, only locally as problems walking due to arthritis for me and o/h. We too said we would go all over when we retired but health problems prevented it from happening..
So I say, good on yer Shiney - do it while you can and enjoy every minute!!! :D

Well done Shiney for doing so much good work in the community [IMG]

The only thing I was trying to say was that I shall be 104 years young when and if the hole does start closing up,so I doubt very much if I will be in good enough health by then to worry about it.

The way things are going, man will already have killed each other off with all the fighting in wars.

As long as we all do just a little bit to help then it will all go a long way in making the planet a better place to live in...

Keep up the good work Shiney good on you [IMG]

Shiney.Forgot to say,go on as much as you like.It is good to hear what people do with their lives, and the things they do for others.

I have always tried to help people in my community, and for no reward, only the pleasure my help gives them.

I did two hours three times a week at our local Maternity Hospital for two years, and that was with holding down a full time job,and a husband and house to look after...I too ought not to go on [IMG] [IMG]

 Kandyfloss, please don't be so pessimistic!
It won't change things so might as well think the best of life
and do what we can to help others,
as I see you already do. [IMG]

An old man I know said only worry about things you can do something about.
If you can't change a situation then forget about it.

Yes jjordie, that is why I do whatever I can here and now to help people where ever and whenever I can.

I do think the best of life, and wish I had the money and resourses,to do even more to help the planet.
And this is why I don't think and worry too far into the future.Life is short enough as it is,but there is always someone out there ready to fill us all with doom and gloom.

The old man spoke very wise words, and I do take on board your words, and I still like your fox avatar.
