I've bought some phyllostachys nigra seeds from ebay that came with germination instructions but as the seller didn't reply to my message once I bought the seeds I think they got the instructions off the internet and they don't know if the instructions works.

This is what the instructions says.

    Seed treatment.

    1. Remove the seed husk (Optional) this may improve germination.
    2. Place the seeds in 10% salt water for 15 minutes then rinse seeds.
    3. Place the seeds in clean water for 24-48 hours.

    Sowing seeds.
    1. Use a 50/50 mix of perlite and compost and moisten to the point where you can barely squeeze water from it.
    2. Place the soil in seed trays then add seeds then cover with 1 - 2cm of same soil.
    3. Cover seed trays with propagation covers and keep at a temperature of 20 celsius - 30 celsius.
