    Hello all

I need to move a small Winter Jasmine that was planted in September 2019.

Can anyone please advise when the best time would be to move it and any other information that I may need?

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

    Hi,

Think the ideal time would be in early spring after flowering, but if you do it now it may still flower, though we would be tempted to cut it back by half so it concentrates on growing rather than flowering and wasting energy.

The ones we have moved seemed quiet tough, the bigger the rootball you can lift, the better it will fair, give it a good water the night before the move so the soil holds together more.

    Hello @ricky101

    Thanks for the reply.

I will wait until Spring, will March be alright?

Also, regarding the rootball, any ideas how big it would be on a 1.5 year specimen?

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

    Hi,

As long as the ground is warming up and not frozen, seems winters are getting later.

For a small plant we would go for a spades width all around, should be fine with some fertilizer /compost and keeping it well watered while its new roots get going.
