Hi all, I've just bought two of these, they look well made, how well they work I will have to wait and see,

I will put a few Cucumbers and Peppers in them and see how they go.

Another Clever idea from Hozelock . The water wicking up into the compost must work . Although Toms do use an extraordinary amount of water.

I will probably get a couple more Harry, there nice and neat and easy to keep clean around them,

I've set the two up, put one tomato plant in and a few peppers, still room for two more plants will get a few cucumbers to fill the gaps.

I suspect the roots will head straight for the reservoir via the holes the spikes made ;)

Another neat idea from Hozelock , is the Pico hose . It's 10 metres of smaller diameter water hose in a cassette as below. We bought one for the caravan, connects to the kitchen tap and packs away really neatly :blue thumb:

Thanks Harry I will take a look at them, sometime in the near future I will be installing a outdoor tap in the back garden, didn't realise you could buy above ground water pipe until recently, anyhow this looks ideal once the jobs done :)

@martin-f , I don't think the Hozelock hose cassette is suitable for a large back garden. It is only a small diameter hose which does limit the flow , perfect for light jobs. For a garden and greenhouse you are better with a decent hose on a good reel .

Thank you Harry, I do have a good quality long one that now runs from the front garden round to the back,

My intension is too run a permanent water pipe and tap round the back, I don't have much garden left now :frown:, this is all I have left and a little strip by the side of the patio area, so it should be ideal if I install the tap central,

The longer one will do for washing the car.
