    Hi,
As the title says I bought some of the above bulbs. Is it too late to plant them in large pots ? or should I store them for next year ? and what is the correct way to store them ?
They are still in the bags they were delivered in a few days ago. We already have some Asiatic Lilies planted a couple of months ago and they are almost ready to bloom.
I have read Gladioli can be planted as late as June. Sorry for all the questions but I very new to gardening.

    Hi Dave.

I think I'd be inclined to get them in asap. I'm not sure that they would appreciate being made to wait that long(next year). IMO, they'll be fine even if the frost cuts them down.

    Cheers...Freddy

Edit : If they're in pots, they can be brought inside overnight if frost is forecast

I agree, they need planting or they will shrivel up and probably die. They may not do much this year, but they'll be back for a good show next year. Take the flowers off if they appear and are pathetic, otherwise take them off after flowering (so called "dead heading") so they get energy for next year instead, and feed with Potash-rich fertilizer during / after flowering to help build up for next year and compensate for shorter growing season this year.

Yup, plant them up now. I would use a free draining mix. Plenty of water, and a bit of feed to regain some energy.

I've got some bought this Spring which I just haven't got round to planting. They're on my list of things to do this weekend. But then, they have been for months.

They either will or won't grow!
