I think its been proven more than once, that once you depose a dictator in those Middle East countries you just create civil war between all the other "tribes" that want to fill the power vacuum.
Expecting them to abide by the decision of a democratic vote is also very unlikely, they just dont think like we do.

I'm pretty sure the far leftist folks took little soundbites from Farage and co and then milked them for all they're worth. Let's face it, if you want to ridicule a whole section of society, you don't have to wait very long for Farage to provide the ammo.

As for the polls, nobody is know was ever asked why they voted the way they did.

What happened is one side got their way, and one side didn't. Some, a very vocal minority, in the losing side, we're bitter at having been on the losing side of democracy, and rather than accepting the outcome of the democratic process, resorted to very dirty tactics for what seems to me no other reason than spite (seeing as there was no realistic prospect of changing the outcome ). The main strategy seemed to be to declare the leave voters to be racist idiots. And that seems to persist, even in the complete absence of logic or evidence but it works because in the minds of their accusers, the 'racists' that deny being racist will be criticised for the inevitable use of the word 'but', as in for example, 'but I think it's fair to want to know a little bit about the fighting age man that's coming from a war zone before we let him move about freely here ', and the 'racists' that don't say anything to defend themselves, because they don't feel they have to having done nothing wrong, are guilty because they didn't deny it.

Anyway, it's old news, and tiresome, and it's not the subject of this thread. Please let's try not to derail yet another thread onto the well and truly thrashed brexit discussion.
