I can't believe how well balanced and agile they are. When I got them back they were all in one big box (not a free box) which I put into the chicken run and opened the lid hoping they would all jump out and explore there new home but they didn't they just stayed in the box all squashed up haha. So I tried to squeeze into the run on my hands and knees to gently get one out the box but it tried to fly in my face suddenly and then made a break for the door :heehee: got q wing in my eye which hurt.
When I tried push it back in it perched on my hand lol which I didn't think they could do either I could not shake it off was quite impressed I have to admit. Eventually after I fed them they settled down :D

            Lmao :D

That's what I read though lol

I felt really guilty last night taking them out of a huge big warm barn with their mates and putting them in a windy little chicken hut lol they didn't seem happy last night and two tried to sleep outside the house in the run but I put them back in the house with the other 4 and shut the door.

The farmer told me that I need to try and make sure the hens don't sleep in the nesting boxs unless they are laying, because they will poo in it. But when I checked them in the morning at 9am one of the nest boxs looked undisturbed and the other was a mess and had poo in it so I had to clean it out. There were six hens in there last night but only four tonight as two have gone to a friend of a friend who already keeps hens. So I'm hoping tonight my remainding four will all sleep on the perchs and not in the nest box or use it as a toilet :what:
They certainly seem a lot more chilled today and are moving around more :D

Aw .. my old girl May has always slept in the nest box,but if thats where shes comfy i don't mind:love30:her 2 sisters (now deceased) used to sleep with her but their 'step sisters have all perched.Don't know why 'they shouldn't sleep in the nest boxes though:dunno: the only reason to me is that the eggs may get dirty but if you clean them out regulally whats it matter...hey we're all gardeners....we should be used to a bit of muck.
How come 2 have 'left home' Hydro?
Wait till you get your first egg you'll nearly lay one yourself ,i know i did:D
