Started to clear more of the garden until this horror of horrors nose bleed started again. I hate it that you have a medical problem and then you cannot do a hobby that you love. All I was doing was a bit of weeding and then the wife bless her told me I was bleeding over the border. I said it was a runny nose but then sure enough the heavens opened and whoosh out it came all over me and the border.
Not sure what caused it but I shall have to go to the doctors to find out why they keep happening. Still I got the rest of the Saxifrage and creeping butter cup out before I stopped as bleeding stopped play.
I will resume play after this has passed or been told to otherwise.

I'm no Doc but it sounds like when you're exerting yourself your blood pressure is going up and finding a weakness in the nasal veins, Landiman. Going to see the Local Witch Doctor sounds like a good idea to me. Take care of yourself first and the garden can wait until you know what the problem is.

Is my memory right that you had a heart attack fairly recently? Are you taking warfarin?

          Hi all,
Fully rested and ready to go again, though I shall be keeping a close eye on what I do and not overdo things.
Lolimac, I think I have done enough walking:heehee: perhaps this body needs to run off some steam every now and then:hapfeet:
Armandii, If the blood pressure rises then that's a good thing on my part as I suffer with very low blood pressure :gaah:and would love to have whatever normal blood pressure is.
Perhaps the wife can let me know how you got your bloody nose:snork:
F/C, as always you are correct about the heart attack, but no I am not on Warfarin and can say that I am unsure of which is the right one. Here goes, Prasugrel and Bisoprolol Fumarate are the two main things with a daily top up of aspirin of the soluble kind:eeew:

Chimneyrose, sorry to here that you too have problems, but I think just done to much to soon is what the answer is. I will be trying again today before the winds get up, :autlvs: there is so much do and so little time to do it in.
          Wish me luck everybody :wub2:

Thanks for the link miraflores, from what is said on that site I might be worth a few quid now. I deduce from some of the prognosis's that I am therefore pregnant:oopss:
I had better let the family know that there is a new delivery soon.:redx:
No truthfully I think it was just one of those things which happens and there is no reason for it. I have slept well and there is no return as yet of these bleeds. So all in all I feel well and have done a little more today. Thanks all for the concern and interest in my well being. I am not one to dwell on matters, rather to get on with things now as there is never enough time to dwell on these matters before it becomes to late. Live for today as we do not know what tomorrow brings.

So pleased to hear you are feeling better today landimad :dbgrtmb:

Health is a funny thing: we all take it so much for granted when we have it; then spend time worrying about it when we haven't. As you so rightly say - live for today!

Almost certainly, the nose bleeds are being exacerbated (but not caused) by you taking the aspirin, as it is an antiaggregant (basically, it thins the blood by preventing the platelets from 'sticking' to each other) - - this is hugely beneficial to you given your heart condition, so please don't be tempted to stop taking it.

The drawback of aspirin, even in fairly low doses, is that if you cut or wound yourself you will bleed profusely and that bleeding is fairly difficult to stop. The nose is absolutely rammed with blood vessels, many of which are near the surface and are not particularly hardy - all it takes is for one of them to spring a wee leak, and it will be quite a deluge thanks to the aspirin.

If you keep getting nose bleeds, particularly if its from the same side, speak to your GP who can arrange to have your nose cauterised; they use a silver nitrate stick to essentially burn the leaky vessel away which stings a wee bit, but compared to a heart attack will be a minor inconvenience.
