I want to grow a Pineapple.

Loved the photo of the pineapple field @HarryS, I sort of knew how they grew but I'd never seen pineapple en mass before. Not sure why but it made me smile. Good luck roders keep us posted with the progress and most impressed @pete . Have you eaten it and if so was it tasty? certainly after 3 years of TLC it ought to have been.

 

I ate it about 12yrs ago
It was very sweet and better than the ones you buy, as is often the case with fruit that is allowed to fully ripen on the plant

Dead........both rotted.
It’s difficult to get the watering right....for me anyway.

Got an update, looked into the crown of the plant earlier, guess what?

 

Pineapple @pete ! Did you see a gardeners world episode last year - a woman was mad on growing them.

 

Yep I saw that, not going to those lengths but like to have one on the go.
I'm now thinking of starting a replacement for this one after its fruited.

 

That sounds like the start of it....pineapple madness
