Hi, i'm new to gardening but have already decided that i really like Agastache foeniculum and this year grew Anisata and Golden Jubilee varieties from seed (from T&M). Out of these two, the Anisata was much more prolific (most of the GJ's didn't flower particularly well and looked rather weedy compared to the Anisatas). I've bought a load more varieties for next year also.

Although these plants are hardy perennials, what end-of-season attention do they need, and exactly how hardy are they? How much cutting back do they need (if any)? Many of my 2012 plants are already showing new shoots coming up which look like they'll be new stems next year. The main stems of some of the Anisatas are already going woody and look like they'll develop into something similar to the Hyssopus officinalis (very woody) i also own....

Lovely thing, Tyke, I'd like one of those. Wonder how true they come from seed?

I love the way all those square stem things root up so easily.
