    Not the greatest of photos, these tallish ( 2-3 ft ) slender purple plants are in a few of the village planters. I feel I really should know the name , but as usual I don't ( hangs head in shame ) :dunno:

      might it be Purple Toadflax -Linaria purpurea Purple Toadflax -Linaria purpurea.jpg
      such a lovely plant- most buzzy flutterby friendly too- try to collect some seeds very easy to propagate ;)

        Thanks @BeeHappy , Linaria purpurea does ring a bell . I'll have a closer look at the flower heads later this week for a better ID . :blue thumb:

          I,m not sure the foliage looks right for Linaria.:smile:
          I was wondering if it might be some kind of Salvia perhaps.

                Hi Harry , i'd say definately a Salvia. Perhaps one of the S. Nemerosa hybrids.

                    I took the photo out of my car window, as I was to bone idle to get out.
                    I'll nip up to the village tomorrow and take a close up photo of the flower and leaves , and rub a leave or two. We'll identify this pesky plant , it won't beat GC ! :snorky:
