    Does anyone know what this plant in the photo is please? It's past its best now but has lovely pink plumes a few weeks ago IMG_20210820_165158.jpg

          Trying to say which one it is is hard even for those of us that now these .

          Did you go out in the dark last night to see if the back of the leaves were velvety and white to eliminate Spiraea douglasii?

          NOTE......Spiraea Billardii has had a name change,..see 3.

            These are a nightmare to distinguish for me, I have one and initially thought it was S. billardi 'Triumphans' but now think it's just Bridewort (S. salicifolia). Aren't the flowers pretty much identical with all spiraeas mentioned in this thread? :dunno:

            My point exactly.

            I have made a real effort recently to get to grips with these and still haven't managed it.
            I haven't the expertise to id one from the other.
            Still trying.
            Not sure where to get more ACCURATE info.
            So much on www is not accurate.
            Confusing.

            Here one has completely taken over a whole area of open access woodland, virtually blocking the path.
            It suckers really badly....a complete thug.
            Very pretty...BUT!
