The reason I am interested is, the plant is Rafflesia Arnoldii, the rarest plant in the world, a plant that smells like rotting flesh, so they say, its only grown in remote pockets of Indonesia, so either you are a world renowned Horticulturalist, or your cheating:love30::love30::yahoo::psnp:

@Cuttings The Curcuma I knew straight away as I bought one a few years ago in Birkenhead market! I used to buy in Ipomoeas from Ball, for hanging baskets for Weymouth Parks Dept, had the yellow ones too.
      I don't have any 'apps' just a (fading/failing) memory.

I have never seen it even though I worked in Indonesia for a while

It is often in the news though as the world's biggest flower and only knew it as the Corpse flower because of the terrible smell. I thought somewhere in london got one to flower recently but could be mistaken.

I have an Ipomoea 'Blackie' but for some reason don't have a pic of it blooming but will take one soon. Also had a Curcuma Siam.

I think one was guarded behind netting when I last went to Kew.
            Not in flower but seed.

Oh @Cuttings I thought the plant was a stapelia - same sort of flower. Didn't think anyone would have a rafflesia!

As for the apps, I have been told this week that they are pretty poor for native wildflowers, so you just have to key them out, and when I tried using one at work, it was great for australasian/south african plants but less good at the more 'normal' herbaceous border things. Probably because its machine learning had been trained on those countries due to the company producing it.

The one that one of my customers was using, she took a photo of the leaf, and ding, it came back Parahebe snow clouds, so I got her to take a photo of a hd photo of a plant, then ding it came back Cytisus Battandieri, correct both times, it even had a care guide, for each plant.

Last time I tried an ID App it was pretty bad, that was after someone on the forum recommend one maybe two years. They must have improved.
