Not whilst they are germinating, but once they start coming up they will need as much light as possible otherwise they grow 'leggy'

Window sills are OK for a short while, but the plants always tend to pull towards the light.

The usual advice is to turn the plants often, but although it stops them leaning to some extent, it doesn't stop the plants becoming leggy.

    What seeds are they?

Anth , I move my seedlings out to the greenhouse at the end of March . But I do keep a very sharp eye on the night time temps ! If there is a chance of going below 5°c , I have a paraffin GH heater. Up to then its a battle for windowsill space V Keeping Mrs H happy !
