Funnily enough on the walk back home from the fungi course I was on:heehee: it was literally on the main road next to a bus stop in Swanwick, Hampshire huge isn't it:OUCH: I didn't feel too bad about uprooting it as it was basically on it's way out having already offloaded it's spores, in fact the one next to it was rotten through however I only found that out after I had put my hand through it:eeew:

PS: I didn't realise you were using a phone! are you on wifi or 3G? I shall be more considerate and post thumbnails next time:o

I thought Bolete when I first looked too, but then the Stipe accessed a part of my Brane that said "Charbonnier"

I'm pretty sure you're joking, but just in case you're not, I must point out:

        * A mature deathcap contains enough poison to ensure certain death for 4 healthy grown men.
        * There is no known antidote to the toxin
        * The only faint possibility of cure is a liver transplant within 3 days of consumption (so nil really) and before the other vital organs have been destroyed.
        * It can take over a week to die from it. After the initial bad belly and vomiting, you get better apparently, so by the time you feel ill again you're doomed. Doomed I tell ya.

Thanks everyone:dbgrtmb: I received a reply from Phil Bud (the guy who's running the 2 day course I'm on) and his opinion is that it's Boletus chrysenteron (Red Cracking Bolete)

Boletus chrysenteron - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rogers Mushrooms - Boletus chrysenteron Mushroom - this is a fantastic website by the way created by Roger Phillips I think:scratch: they even have an iPhone app:rolleyespink:
