Hi all those of you that know me will be well aware of my little greenhouse adventure hubby Bob promised me one since last year only problem was that we had to agree on what type to get that was safe for little ones and also what size we could fit into the small space we had planned for it to go into.

We finally decided a 8ft x 10ft twinned wall polycarbonate one and after having the thing in the dinning room for nearly a month due to bad weather and poor Bob's health problems it is finally done it only needs a step up to it and maybe a bed roll for Bob to sleep in it as since it's be up he's always in it !:D

We have two 4ft long two tier staging along one side and left the other side blank for our toms & cucumbers to go on the gravel floor just got to go and buy some grow bags and we are away although we do have some toms to go into some hanging baskets strange how those plants seem so much stronger than the Gardener's Delight ones  Hel.xxx.

Thanks guys I have already transplanted our (gotta say 'our' now as Bobs watching over the seedling now) seedling/plants that I lovingly sown on our window sill and I have to say all have since come on really well in the greenhouse and they have only been in there a week!

The dwarf double dahlias are lovely strong plants now and my germination success rate has been really great all in fact the only ones I have had problems with is the sisyrinhium seeds that I collected from one of my plants last year although I have since found out that they like to be sown fresh so that's something I will have to have another go at again this year.

Here's what I have going at the moment in the greenhouse Sweet Peppers (Worldbeater), Lobelia (Crystal palace), Nasturtium (loads of these!), Poppy (paeony flowered mixed), Poached Egg plant (has been in my coldframe just wanted to give it a bit of a boost), Jacob's Ladder (pressie from my s-i-l), Cucumber (Telegragh Improved & Marketmore),Tomatoes (tumbling tom red, Alicante, Garndener's delight) as well as some lettuce any helpful advice regarding any of the above will be greatly received.

Going to see if there's anything else we can have a go out fingers crossed it's not too late! Hel.xxx.

Lol Walnut I only managed to take the photo while Bob was in the front garden otherwise if he had known I was knocking about in the back garden he would have been in the greenhouse dragging me off to see how well 'his' babies are doing I kid you not.......do you I think I would make a good spy?:D

Bob was going to trellis off along the front of the greenhouse only a little 3ft high jobby but we managed to buy some wonderful screening from Wilco's yesterday a mixture of bambo and willow 10ft long x 3ft high for £6.99 now that's gotta be a bargain although we did have to go to two different stores to get the three lots that we needed! We are then going to gravel the whole area around the greenhouse.

Walnut I have got my eye on a banana plant at the moment they are selling them at Focus some nice sized ones for a tenner (again that must be a bargain) I have just gotta look up and see how hard they are to look after and whether they will do well here in my garden. Hel.xxx

Hi Helen, congratulations on getting your greenhouse up and running. I just thought I`d mention, my favourite time in the G/H is actually those cold dark days of Jan/Feb when you KNOW spring is round the corner and you can get to work on those early sowings and getting your bedding plants started into life. I can remember the odd occasions when I`ve had snow on the G/H roof and Lobelia seedlings just started into life ! A fantastic contrast and a nice reminder of things to come ! Well done Helen. Cheers...freddy.
