Marley, hope you don't mind me putting this in, this is a mature Caesalpinia Pulcherimma Flava in the Aquatic gardens in Puerto De La Cruz in Tenerife, you can see what a specimen the one in your pic will make. [IMG]

Just found your pic Marley, it is Rhoeo Discolour or Rhoeo Spathacea, I uesed to know it as the Boat Lily but it is also known as Moses in the Cradle. It is sometimes refered to as a Tradescantia and there are many cultivars now. [IMG]

[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] Thanks so much Strongy. I thought it very unusual the way the little flowers are all at the base. Striking in its own way too. Seem to grow just about anywhere. there are even some growing out of cracks in the walls out in the front.. Like them..!! :D [IMG]

Marley, the Great Blue Heron you saw in Jamaica has followed you back, it is on the Scilly Isles. :D
Seriously, one has obviously been blown off course and is in the Scillys (just thought you might like to know) [IMG]
unfortunately they are so far from where they should be flying to that they hardly ever find their way back. Very small birds, warblers etc that accidently cross the Atlantic are usually so worn out they don't survive for long. :(
