And Ralf Little pretty much destroyed him on Twitter as a result....

I know that this is a Daily Fail link, but they can't alter what Ralf Little posted, which to me is utter gold. I can think of nothing finer on a Friday night than reading about Jeremy Hunt being shown up to be the lying, conniving little sleaze-ball that he is.

Aye, very true @Jiffy - Ralf Little did a fairly comprehensive job on Mr Hunt though; we need more people like him speaking out and taking politicians on.

I dislike the whole concept of online social media witch hunts/slanging matches/judgements because there lies an uncomfortable sense of abuse of ones position in the popularity stakes vs a persecution/condemnation of another based on little more than a social slanging match which may not even be strong enough to see the light of day in a court of law yet has the potential of damaging a persons credentials, possibly career.

Statistics are always open to interpretation and very much depends on which side of the fence you sit together with, who is footing the bill to publish/analyse the "results" of such statistics ;)

So, one has to ask: who is Ralf Little ... *really*?
What is his interest in this particular issue? Professional? (He's an actor). Personal? Attention seeking? An evangelist? Does he have an ulterior motive for calling this particular MP into question? :dunno: None of this is addressed, nor answered, in the Twitter Trial.

In essence - that would lead me to take what is being said with a large dose of salt (on both sides!!) because this is not a clear cut argument/debate. I'd need to know more and couldn't take it on face value.

So: other than acting in "The Royale Family" ... what has any of this to do with Ralf Little? What is his vested interest in the subject matter? :dunno:

I rarely take anything on face value, and I agree that the current trend of trial by media/social media is very worrying indeed. However, we have a government that only scraped into power by a dodgy back-door deal, and they happen to be showing their true party colours in that the NHS is once again being decimated.

True, Ralf Little is only well known because he is an actor, but he is better known than I, and therefore has much more of a chance of even getting the opportunity to make such a point - would Mr Hunt lower himself to converse with scum like me? Would he hell as like.

As for Mr Little's vested interest, he is a UK citizen and a taxpayer - that for me is credentials enough for anyone to have a pop at the political elite which one by one (regardless of their party) have systematically wrecked this country.

Perhaps, but, he appears to be tenacious in his pursuit so I doubt that the fact he is a UK citizen and taxpayer are the sole reasons for his investment in this issue. I always wonder at a persons motives and try not to assume; doesn't always work though :heehee:

When I was at college we had an unusual course (no qualification given and only 45 minutes per week) called 'You have to lie'. :heehee:

It worked on the basis of being a debate. The instructor asked for two volunteers and then gave them a scenario (usually based on something controversial in the news) and they then told which side they were to take.

The debate had to be based on the reported subject and statements and they had to fight their corner. It gave us a good grounding in what is now considered 'Fake News'.

Nowadays my immediate reaction to anything is 'I don't believe it'. Then I try to analyse what has been said and then I do my own research - if I'm interested enough. :noidea:

I have only had the misfortune of featuring on the front page of a newspaper (not a national publication) once. The report was so inaccurate I wanted to speak to the paper and correct many of the so called facts. Luckily my solicitor phoned me regarding the article and advised me to steer well clear of any reporter and keep my mouth firmly shut. He made me realise that the media are in it to make money not to print the truth and ever since then I have a similar reaction to Shiney's in that I do not take anything as being gospel until I have done my own homework.

I was on the front page of the News Chronicle (who remembers that?) in 1959 but only in a photo. :blue thumb: I remained incognito (they didn't publish names) :heehee: as it was a photo of the front of the Aldermaston March (I didn't actually go on the march :noidea:).
