    I went for a potter around the village I once lived in...
    This is the cottage I was born in:)

      Oh wow Nick, what an adorable little cottage, and the church is so cute.....i love it!

      Thats an impressive garden too, kudo's to you're uncle for tending it, is that his too, back by the greenhouse?

      His plot is the nearset. Houses were bulit in the next field and the fence post you see is his boundry...turn around and you look at his back door..

      Lots of memories,good and bad came flooding back on my visit.
      How's this for wierd...his son lives twenty yards from him,in the old Post office,and on the out side wall there are just two initials scratched in the stone..Guess who's!!:p.done in 1964:old:and I felt grandads belt for doing that:D

      Ooooh i love the sunroom on the back too!

      From the front of the house, it doesnt look that big, but the view from the back of the house, looks like a big house indeed.

      Oh how cool, not so much on feeling Grandads belt, but that the initials are still there.......is the post office an old building too?

      Penny,his house isn't the cottage. They are in the same village but his is only 10 years old and the cottage is dated 1874,built by the Spencer Chuchill family from the Northwick Estate in Gloucestershire

        More pottering around the local villages and Hamlets this weekend..Firstly in my Village again.
        This is now considered the longest Cul-de -Sac in England,now that the Bypass cut off the upper High street,despite promises it would not do so.....there's power in them thar houses!!:mad:

        Then to this small place called Cutsdean and once the home of my paternal grandparents.
        They used to live here,the Old Post Office,

        and now lie here in the grounds of the Hamlets tiny but beautiful Church of St James's..

          We're off to do some serious pottering next week...... YORK!
          Based at the Hilton I see we are central to practically every attraction:)
