Id be scared incase i got a whole elephant. Id quite like a giraffe tho so if anyone has any ideas on how to grow one of them id be interested. Ive thought it through. Id give it a veeeeery long scarf to wear and wellies for its feet. Im sure if i do that it would be frost hardy.

I really have thought this through. If the weather gets very cold id let it into the lobby with its head up the stairs.

I have grown a lot from seed including an Avocado which grew enormous and had to be put down! Or was that the Grapefruit? I grew a lovely tree from a Grapefruit pip, when I lived in a Flat, every Spring my fingers would go all funny, I wanted to stick them in the ground, but managed to stick them elsewhere, just as well.
I grew this large plant, and had to repot it into an enormous container, with of course plenty of earth, during the night, one of my Cats decided not to use the Box, but to do what a Cat likes best claw the earth, and so my poor Grapefruit gave up the Ghost, I suppose in a way the Cat did me a favour, as it was almost up to the ceiling, so don,t know where I would have been another couple of inches, suppose I could have pruned it severely.
Peanuts, make lovely windowsill foliage plants.
I never tried growing a Kiwi from seed , but am going to have a bash, as have a Kiwi just waiting to beeaten in the dish. regards Ambersparkle.

Well the one I have is down as an Alocasia, but looking on the net there is confusion between Alocasia and Colocasia

I'll find out the full name when I venture into the greenhouse tomorrow [IMG]
