@"M" that could well be right - there are two reasons that I really wanted to breathe life into this old relic - the first is simply because it was a fathers day gift back in 2008, and the second is that very little of their overpriced tat currently competes with it in terms of storage space.

My old one came with 120gb as standard, however the majority of iPod Touch seem to be 64gb, and are £250-ish. They have cameras and big flashy phone like screens, none of which I need or want - - I just want a decent wee MP3 player that will play in my car and in the office, but also one that has sufficient capacity to handle my music collection (90gb+)

EDIT - for the record, having been in the guts of the thing a few times now, I can safely say that Apple product is way over priced and over-rated; don't get me wrong, it is good kit, but it is no better than stuff I have seen from other manufacturers (Panasonic, Sony, Samsung to name but a few)

Oh, and after ripping it to bits again this afternoon, it managed two and a half songs on test before lobbing its toys out of the pram again. Really, really not happy :mute:

          Aye, sadly so.

I shall wait for my bits and bobs to arrive over the coming days and lash up a wee external drive for myself, then live in hope that it talks to the car.

Good luck with that. I'm sure we'll hear the shout of joy if it works.

I will still mope about for a while over this one - I hate being beaten by electronics; the trouble is that nowadays everything is so miniaturised that you can barely see components let alone get a meter on them.

My moan is husbands who wake you up in the middle of the night as they get out of bed because they have pulled a muscle in their shoulder and it has gone into spasm (according to his Dr) so he needs some painkillers as he cant sleep because of the pain.Once he is back into bed he is out like a light only to start snoring his head off and now I am downstairs on the computer as I cannot get to sleep because of the noise in my ear:gaah::cry3:

You can tell them that you have no intention of turning up. :blue thumb: A written statement should be sufficient.

Alternatively, you can ask the solicitors to pay for a taxi to and from court and subsistence expenses.

I'm not very well up on Scottish law so I don't really know what the 'citation' is :blue thumb:. This is obviously a civil court matter so there should be no compulsion for attending.

How can you give a character reference for a dog? All you can say is that whenever you see the dog it is good tempered. A signed statement to that effect must be sufficient.

Morning @shiney , unfortunately the law in Scotland is different. I had already voiced my displeasure to the defendant solicitor regarding having to turn up and asked if I could do a sworn statement instead. You are correct in that I could do this in England but not in Scotland (sigh). If it as a criminal matter I could, but not for a civil 1 evidently. A citation is a formal notice basically informing me I will be called as a witness and can have a warrant issued for my arrest if I don't show up!
I'm hoping the defendant's insurance company ups their offer to the pursuer prior to the court hearing and the case is settled. I do get travelling expenses and maybe subsistence. I think your idea of a taxi to court and back again is a great 1 tho:yay:. I'll play the "daft lassie" and say I don't drive/can't walk far as I have replacement hips (can easily walk a good 20 miles a day between you me and the gatepost!) and they'll need to get me a taxi there and back. :yikes: That'll set them back over £100 easily. I wouldn't mind quite so much if I had witnessed the incident but just to stand up and say the dog isn't vicious IMO seems a huge waste of my time.

@silu you can intimate to them that being forced to travel uncomfortably (i.e. not by taxi would put you in a lot of discomfort and, possibly, result in some confusion ;) :old:) so a taxi is the only choice.
