Being sleep deprived - I agree that it is something worth mumbling about. Being sleep deprived and being forced into nocturnal games of tug of war over the blankets is another...

Why don't snorers hear themselves?

Believe me when I say I am considering having my own bedroom now that we have got rid of my sisters boxes we looked after in two of the bedrooms for fourteen months and now seem to have a lot of the crap Mr Kandy brought back home from his hoarder fathers house in the spare bedrooms:wallbanging::eeew: I have a lot of it already boxed up in the garage and shed which are now full and sooner or later he is going to have to make up his mind what is happening to it:sad:

One problem I think is that we go to bed too early (10pm) and within a minute of Mr Kandys head hitting the pillow he is sound asleep and snoring (He tells me I snore as well at times:snorky:)I jiggle around trying to get him to move but sometimes I end up getting up and going downstairs as I am wide awake.I also have nights where my arthritis and bone pain keeps me awake through the night. If I take strong painkillers an hour before bed the pain goes from say my ankles but then as soon as I get into bed the pain transfers to my wrists and hands so I have to lie in bed and suffer with the pain as I dare not take any more painkillers so soon after the last lot.

I always know when I have had a bad night as I have bags under my eyes when I look in the mirror in the morning and my hair looks like Ken Dodds where I have tossed and turned all night:sad:

When I was growing up, I had to share a room with my mother and it was the same story: she could snore for England! :hate-shocked: It was fine if I got off to sleep first, but, if she beat me to it ... :gaah:

I don't think taking extra painkillers one hour after the previous ones would be too much of a problem *if* you are still within the recommended daily dosage? But, do speak to your GP about that and take their advice. I'm sure they would prefer you to be as pain free as is possible than losing sleep :grphg:

              Starter for 10 ...

Airports - now turned into massive malls where you just happen to be able to be catch a plane but only after you have braved the assault course of masses of perfume and booze counters and come out the other end reeking of a cheap bordello. Ghastly uncivilized places. Ugh!

Advertising. The worst kind of environmental pollution. Having developed a robust advertising 'off' button I'm anti consumer so doesn't really work on me, still, it's one of the blights on the modern landscape ...

You'll have to get used to it if you move over here, GG:biggrin: Hoardings all over the place, especially near those boring old road junctions where, before, the only thing visible was the oncoming traffic! And the weekly publicity...a great sheaf of booklets from all the supermarkets, DIY sheds, garages...you name it!

Your ideas are fantastic, "M" but the electricity supply for the garden is equally as unlikely as the water supply. But I like the idea of slug patrol.. where to get this pith helmet.. might need a trip to Africa for that :heehee: ! The window propagator is in planning, and earlier I sorted the pots in my yard, so my herbs and spices have a nice home once it gets warmer! :spinning:

Not when it comes out with corkers like this:
"We've lived through a very exciting period in history"
                        "When!?"
