It's getting worst in uk, there's been ad's on tv to get drivers to give 2m gap, but here there's no way you would get that as the road is only 3m wide and in some places it's only 2.60m wide, all we would like is for some drivers to slow down to make it safer, what's worst is that some driver's have young children 2-6 years old, i wonder what would happern if i drove my car at the same speed when passing them if they were walking on the road!!!!!!!!

People drive that everywhere. Even in car parks. When I use to manouvre the school bus cars were always trying to squeeze past me.

Nothing wrong with owls per se, woo, but they're (you're?) not the most immediately Christmassy symbol, even white ones with glittery chests? And WTH have rag dolls got to do with it either? The irony is that stars are still apparently considered to be acceptable symbols. So the origin of that one has completely escaped the PC gestapo....:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

No Worries @noisette47 my good friend,it was said with tongue in beak,as far as my knowledge goes us Owls have nothing to do with Christmas at all:dunno:;)

There is a reason, but it varies. It goes back to th 19th century when ornaments were made (worn or put on the tree) to symbolise a Christmas wish, the owl being intelligence and wisdom; heart love; teapot hospitality;fruit good harvest; flower, beauty etc. However, in Christian symbolism, the owl represents desolation, death and darkness - being nocturnal I guess. Today the wisdom thing persists with a "secret knowledge" twist - story goes that the owl is a spy for Santa to see who's been naughty or nice, hence those big wide, starry eyes!

I bought an owl made of natural cane many years ago for my tree but he now lives in my silk indoor bamboo.

Quote from the BBC re improvements to a main shopping street in Glasgow costing £7.2 million.
"In addition, 28 deciduous trees will be planted along the avenue to give colour throughout the year." Dying to find out what magical deciduous trees they are going to plant to give a great display 12 months of the year:rolleyespink:. Mind you at the costs involved they certainly better be magical:yikes:

Presently still working full time, and with that comes the health insurance coverage. Now, for years my husband has been on my insurance, he gets his own card with his name on it. Recently he got a bill from a doctors office for payment due. He want "ME" to call the insurance to figure it out, "ME". There is no reason he cannot do this. My time is just as valuable as his.

Its just the same here. Mine will ask me to help with ... (anything involving admin). I say I will help but nothing gets done. What she really wants is for me to do it. She will come home from work and say "Did you sort my ..." to which I reply "No because I don't know your personal details. You do it and I'll sit with you." chances she won't need my help after all.
