I had a chromebook a few years ago, load of old dingos kidneys. Oh, watch what you do with uploading photos with it. Thought I was just putting them in my private album, oh no, it plastered them all over the internet where anyone could see them, didn't know until my Daughter found them :gaah:

              Did You Know?
Minion comes to us from Middle French and has a somewhat surprising cousin in English: [filet mignon](/dictionary/filet mignon). The two words are connected by way of Middle French mignon, meaning "darling." Minion entered English around 1500 directly from Middle French, whereas filet mignon arrived significantly later by way of a Modern French phrase meaning "dainty fillet." The earliest uses of minion referred to someone who was a particular favorite, or darling, of a sovereign or other important personage. Over time, however, the word evolved a more derogatory sense referring to a person who is servile and unimportant.

I am LIVID!!!! :rrant: :rrant: :rrant:

Youngest has returned to Swansea for his final leg of his degree. Last semester he began driving lessons. It worked out cheaper to pay for the lessons in bulk, so he did. He had 2 double lessons before coming home for Christmas and all was well. He is now back in Swansea and contacted the company to book some more lessons. Yup, you've guessed it ... the instructor has disappeared (took the company car!) and now son is £140 out of pocket. WHAT A LOWLIFE!! That is a heck of a lot of money to him! As for the company? "Oh, we'll try and get the money back for you." We all know there is not a snowballs chance in hell of him seeing that money again. I'm gutted for him :frown:

The company should still be liable. How did he pay for it? Who did he pay? Did he get a receipt?

The company are obviously aware of the pre-booking otherwise they would have said that they don't know what he is talking about. Therefore they are liable because the instructor worked for them. He had a 'company' - another piece of evidence that he worked for them.

The "company" are claiming all their instructors are "self-employed" (abdicating responsibility, obviously!). I'm determined to get this sorted out.

Well, if the Instructor was a employee of the company, then it's the Company's problem not your son's. It's their legal responsibility to either provide the service paid for or return the money. Does your son have a official receipt from the Company or, if not, do they acknowledge that the money was paid to their employee for the service?:dunno::coffee:
