I love Purple, been considering having my hair dyed Purple. The lady in coffee shop we go to is in her seventies and has bright blue hair all over. She said I should do it.

 

Hmm, "seaweedy" was thinking more Emerald But then, a rose by any other name still smells as sweet ... and you look very sweet indeed! I love it!

 

I agree with "M" , @Linz , it looks a stunning green

 

I wish they would bring back dictionaries that have the enunciation shown in phonetics. ..

@Linz that looks amazing! Wow! I'd recommend to keep the green for a bit and see how it goes - the colour will likely change over time as the blue which makes up the green will fade very easily when it gets exposed to UV light - so you may find the shade will change over time!

I've been all colours of the rainbow before and also all of the colours at once and regret nothing! Lots of fun, you do get funny looks but to be honest if you like it, why not! I agree about purple being an excellent colour though, a firm favourite here!

 

@Linz and @toppington does the dye only work with light coloured hair as your base and does it gradually wash out? Sounds like fun!

 

@CanadianLori If you want a "true" colour I'd bleach the hair first then use at least 2boxes/bottles of semi permanent colour of your choice (I use Stargazer) Although you can get some coloured dyes with developer in.. for example the purple I use (schwartzkopf live xxl then put magenta stargazer on top). Pretty sure over the pond most people use loreal hi colour tubes (loreal preference here) with a 30/40 developer. Depending on the colour you use it can wash out within a week and leave stained hair or it can take up to 4-6 weeks.. and still, you have stained hair. I've found red and blue to wash out the quickest. Purple and pink seem to last forever on me.

@toppington ah thanks but it was giving me anxiety lol.. I used to go all colours going back 10 years or so too, I loved having wild hair. The green all over just wasn't working for me so I went and got "black"..

It would be really nice if my roots weren't still green !

 

I tried to dye my wife's hair once. It was a very dark red that looked black when dried in. I'll have some photos somewhere. When I'd finished my bit she still had grey roots and lots of red dye on her face and neck. Apparently that wasn't right.
