The Nhs is getting worse and worse, its ok once you get the treatment or job done, but it's getting passed the GP surgery that is the problem.
Its a long story that I wont go into here, but my GP is pretty much a complete waste of time and money, at my recent appointment he pointed out that I was still complaining about a problem I've been telling him about for 6 yrs, he then pointed out that after all that time you cant expect a simple op to sort it out.

I give up with him, he was even counting the minutes I was talking to him and pointed out I had had my 10 minutes, at one point.

The NHS needs sorting, I even had a "doctor" at the hospital, who couldn't get a blood sample, he had all the wrong gear, and I offered to hold the needle in while he pulled the plunger but he declined.
I could go on, but it would get deleted.

I think at this point I would go private. People can afford cigarettes, mobile phones, take aways etc, so why not a doctor's consultation. I wouldn't be treated like a minnion, it is degrading and one's health should come first.

Firstly, they have already paid to see the doctor? Or is all the tax and NI just for fun?

I completely agree, but I think people need to SEE the doctor for a consultation, not a passing vision who clock watches. I am on the NI here (which I paid for by transferring my UK contributions) but I have the option of seeing an NI doctor (at 5 Euros a visit) or going private for efficiency as things can be a bit slow here too. Sorry, I don't agree with 10 minute consultations even if they are free.

              Nothing is free.
Unless of course you have spent all your life srounging and never worked.
Any ideas how much a private consultation is?
And who would I see, I definitely wouldn't pay to see my gp.

Hi @pete I remember my Dad went private for an operation which was urgent NHS wait was 6 months,he went private and he had it done within a week, funny enough it was the same surgeon that done the private OP that he saw on the NHS,who worked for the NHS two days a week and 3 days private at the time it cost him £3000 plus £1500 for the Anesthetist .

Prices | Alexandra Hospital | Spire Healthcare

These days its about £40 locally ,to see a private GP and £18 for the prescription:smile:

I know it is not free ... for the taxpayers ... I meant at the actual visit.

I don't know what private costs there now. Here it is 35-45 Euros for a 30 minute visit, which seems to be the allotted time.

Who would YOU see? I don't know, an Osteopath or Orthopaedic person.

I wouldn't pay your GP either ... there is no choice here, 5 Euros for a GP and last month I paid 7 Euros for a final consultation with my Oncology Surgeon.

Ive got an appointment to see the surgeon who did the operation in August.
I'll have to wait and see what he says.
But he only gave me a 5 minute appointment before agreeing to do the job.
And only stuck his head round the corner of the screen on the day of the op to ask if I still wanted it done.
After that go home and see your gp if you have any problems.

                      Hi,

We can moan about most things but what about being still alive being able to moan? I'm now 71 years of age and I've known many who are no longer here a lot of them much younger than me.

I constantly moan about the weather because I have my own personal black cloud but I still keep busy and am never bored.

Two things I dislike; loyalty cards; it costs money to companies like Morrison's to issue and maintain these cards; I never ever bother with loyalty cards; if I need something I buy it; Bron and I use lots of fresh Soya milk; Morrison's £1.10 per litre; Aldi 59P per litre; I save over £300 per year by buying this one item from Aldi so what good Morrison's loyalty card?

Secondly; mobile phones; are Bron and I the only ones who can still function without using a mobile phone?

                      Kind regards, Colin.

I'm 64 and must admit I do like my phobile moan.:biggrin::biggrin:

I've never been in an Aldi, dont they sell mostly foreign stuff, or am I thinking of someone else?
I know people who use Aldi for some stuff and go elsewhere for other.

I cant be bothered to do that, by the time you add up the fuel, your saving is pretty poor.
