I've got the Canon MG6851 printer. To buy the recommended inks would cost a bomb. Printer takes six cartridges, 2 black. 1 cyan. 1 magenta. 1 yellow.

        These cartridges fit Can-550XLBK/551XLBK/C/M/Y
        For use with Pixma MG5450/MG5550/MG6350/MG6450/MG7150/IP7250/MX725/IX6850/IP8750.

I find these are very good and reasonably priced.

They never learn do they @clanless?

I think with some of the younger climbers/trekkers there's a bravado thing going on. Ben Nevis is quite a rounded looking mountain and to the inexperienced looks an easy climb from the base. But to attempt it at this time of year was absolute madness, despite what they were wearing. In Fort William there are notices asking people to let the authorities know if they are going to climb Ben Nevis, or at least let a family member or friend know what they are doing and an estimated time for return.

Weather conditions change on the mountain very quickly and it's not a quick up and down climb as many think. My son-in-law (experienced) climbed it last year and at a good pace it took him seven hours total, up and down, in near perfect conditions.

I'm not surprised the lads got chastised by the rescue team. Being irresponsible puts the team at risk too. I think they should at least be fined for their actions.

My old friend and I often while away the time doing our bit at puting the world to right. So suddenly a mountain enters the discussion. Well it's there, let's climb it. Likewise with most other aspects of adventure.

So sorry but. We are wonderfully made and that mass of goo in our skulls, we call a brain, has such wonderful properties. One in particular being what we call our memory.
This can serve us well. It can haunt us. It can bring back sad memories.

So in my memory lingers times as a traffic cop, knocking on the door. Mrs. Smith. I'm so sorry to have to tell you this. Your son James has been involved in a motorcycle accident. I am so sorry, but he died at the scene. The scenario unravels and James and friends had been burning it up on the motorway on thier bikes. A sudden speed wobble and James lost control. Several other vehicles became involved....................................................Oh Ye Gods! Why do we do such things. Why do we risk our lives.?????????

Seldom is given a thought to us, the ones who have to pick up the pieces and tell the sad story. WHY?

Unbeknown to others but. Individuals such as cops and rescuers so often for years later, suffer back flashes. If only people learned to think first.

Whoever you are. Wherevevr you are. Think first and. Stay Safe.

My late father-in-law was a police officer working in London and although often he would share the lighter side of policing we also heard a few 'horror' stories. As Mike has said it stays with them, not only the police but the other vital services who also put themselves at risk.

A few Saturdays ago hubby goes into sainsbury's supermarket at 7.15 am and there were just 4 people working there. One on the tills, no one to help on the self service tills. Now they've got the self scan devices and that wasn't working. He almost walked out and to leave the shopping in the trolley.

I thought that was the idea of self service :heehee:.

"Error in the bagging area". You can usually overcome that by lifting the item out of the bag and then putting it back and pressing down on the bag. :)

I don't like noisy self service tills "Thank you for shopping at..." and there is quite often a mute button on the bottom of the screen that you can press before scanning any of the shopping. :blue thumb:

I don't do the shopping hubby does, but sometimes those tills don't work properly so there's usually someone to help. :blue thumb:

Mine does as well. I gave up years ago. He used to come with me as there was so much heavy stuff (lots of water) and he used to annoy the *** out of me rushing around grabbing stuff, moaning if I stopped to read some label, etc. Then in December 2014 I was picking up some yogurt in Aldi and he was already in the checkout putting things on the conveyor and I turned around quickly, my handbag flew off my arm, I flew to the floor and broke the neck of my femur cleanly in half! :yikes: I haven't been shopping since. :)

My late FIL was also a bobby on the beat,CID and traffic and as you say Sheal he too would occasionally share the funny side but the 'horror' stories of what the job entailed where shocking back then I should imagine they are even more horrific these days.
