How many times do people have to be told that smoking is dangerous? I'm feeling slightly guilty as this article did make me smile...

Fumes from an aerosol air freshener and a lit cigarette were the cause of a car explosion in Wrexham earlier today, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed.

The dramatic explosion took place outside a B&M store just before 12pm at Wrexham's Central Retail Park.

Luckily, the driver was not seriously injured and he has now self-discharged from Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Just heard the BBC news presenter use the words 'man handled' to describe how the Police have dealth with a particular situation. Surely not allowed in these enlightened times? Or is it OK, because it has a negative connotation against men?

Political correctness is running the world, or at least this part of the world.
But it only applies to certain aspects, a white male is pretty much the lowest of the low .

I suppose that I also watch too much BBC as I can't stand so many of the advertisements on the other stations. :noidea:

A major annoyance, apart from the ads themselves, with ads is that they have the volume a lot higher for them

I hate the ads on the BBC,you would expect one programme to follow another, but they don't, we get all those annoying interludes of information that we don't need.
                      Plus people doing silly things.

Most things on there seem silly. :noidea:

The other thing that bugs me is all the channels that show so many programmes about murders.

Come to think of it - I don't watch much in the way of TV anyway :heehee:. That's why I don't have any pay TV channels. :blue thumb:

There does seem to be a lot of murder taking place on TV these days.

It's not just fictional murder type programmes but lots of programmes analysing real murders. Why would we want to watch those?

I've watched a couple of those, it does give you some insight into just what actually went on in those historical cases and the mistakes made during the investigation.

I agree I can't say that I like them but they are very interesting and as Pete said a very good insight of how they solve these cases. I particularly find the cold cases interesting as it shows how science has evolved over the passing years since a crime was committed and historical evidence taken at the time can now be analysed to reveal it's hidden answers. Surprising the perpetrator many years later who had thought that they had got away with it !!!
